With the signing of Carlo Nash, Iain has asked Moyesy to look for a loan deal so he can get some much needed match practice. A wise move as these days the reserve games seem to be few and far between. Moyesy says: “It’s never easy when you are looking to sign a second goalkeeper and we needed someone who was going to come in and push Tim Howard. We had Stefan Wessels before Carlo and he did a great job for us last season. We have also got Iain Turner and John Ruddy but ideally we would like to get them out on loan. But for that to happen, we need to have someone behind Tim who has experience and won’t be bothered by playing in big games, if he is needed. Carlo has got that and I’m sure that he will be a big asset over the next two seasons.” (05/09/08) Iain hopes that his injuries are behind him and that he can become Everton's first choice keeper as well as Scotland's. Turns says: “Last season was a write-off for me. I have been in a lot of the summer trying to get my fitness back so at the moment I am feeling good. My fitness is getting there but it has been a hard couple of weeks. All long-term injuries are hellish, I just want to be playing week-in, week-out. I just want to get fit and get back in the team. I am dying for a game. During the whole of last season I played about three-and-a-half games, so I just want to get matches under my belt. I just want get back in the team, prove myself and show everyone what I can do. Everyone wants to be number one for their club, number one for their country. That is every goalkeeper’s dream.” (12/07/08)
