Boyhood Evertonian Carlo Nash would love to have a crack at Tim Howard's number 24 shirt (hey!!), and he his is backing his Everton team mates to come good soon. With Tim not firing on all cylinders this season, and with the American currently away on International duty, I would give Carlo a crack of the whip in the Blues trip to The Emirates next week. Serious, what have we got to lose. Carlo says: "I said when I came in, I'm here primarily to back up Tim and that's a decision for the manager. Obviously the team's not doing well at the moment. I'm sure we'll come through this but results speak for themselves. I love it here. I love the place, I love the training and I love the fans. Everyone knows that I was an Everton fan when I was a younger and it's a dream come true to be playing for the club I supported as a kid. At the moment
we're going through a bit of a bad patch but we're all sticking together
and we know we can pull through it. It's just a matter of time and that
little bit of luck that we get could change everything." (10/10/08) Everton new boy Carlo Nash has been giving Moyesy the low down on Stoke City, who the Blues face on Sunday in the live Dinner time clash. Carlo spent the last few months of last season at The Britannia Stadium helping them to gain promotion, and he is telling his new team mates not to take the Premiership new boys lightly. After defeats against Blackburn and Pompey, I hope not either. C'mon lads lets get the season going on Sunday. Carlo says: "I do know a bit about them! I was on loan there for the last ten games of last season and it was nice to help them get promoted. I know quite a bit about the Stoke players and the club and it is certainly an interesting first game (since I arrived). It is going to be tough but I am sure we can do it on the day."I think a lot of people wrote them off at the start of the season. But I think you can see from a couple of games that they have played that they dig in deep and don't give up. They fight to the end and if that is a positive from a Stoke point of view, then it is something that we have got to match - and then go one further." (12/09/08) Although he's been signed as number 2 and cover for Tim Howard, Everton have made Carlo's day by giving him the number 1 shirt. (03/09/08) Everton have plucked the 34 year old out of the Wigan reserves to become understudy to Tim Howard. The boyhood Evertonian has a smile as big as the mersey after signing a two year deal with an option of a third. He's had 10 other clubs including Rossendale United, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Preston, Stockport and a few games on loan for Stoke last season. Carlo has his own website. Carlo says: "I have known of Everton's interest for the last couple of weeks and there have been a few sleepless nights hoping it would go through. Finally it has and I am over the moon."
