Scored a pen

Blackburn 0, Everton 2. / Tues 04th March. 2003./ Atten: / @ Morecambe FC .

EVERTON: Turner, B Moogan, A Moogan, O'Hanlon, Southern, Linderoth, Said , Schumacher , Carney, Ferguson, Osman.

BENCH: Symes for Ferguson (46m), Cole, Colbeck, Crowder, Beck.

SCORERS: Osman (5m), Ferguson (Pen 28m)

The match was pretty poor, both sides becoming masters in the art of kicking the ball out of Christie Park.

First goal from Osman (5 mins), raced down the right, waited for the goalkeeper to start coming forward and chipped him from an angle. Very well taken.
Second goal was Ferguson penalty, calmly sending the 'keeper the wrong way. Osman won it, fouled when chasing a ball going for a goal kick.

Ferguson did all right, but didn't do very much. Penalised for going for a header as usual, even pulled back for standing still and heading. Not ready for any 1st team matches though, as he barley moved all match.

Osman looks good enough, but lacked the service needed. Too small for a striker.

Symes could make it all the way as well as Rooney. Won everything in the air (more than Duncan) and unlucky not to score.
Turner in nets pulled off some fantastic saves and dealt well with crosses. Looks first team quality in time.

Linderoth did everything needed of him, but not much else.

Said is crap. Wouldn't even swap him with Gary Thompson at Morecambe, he hadn't a clue how to work as a team player and the only thing going for him is pace.

Basically, poor football from both sides with very little in the way of passing. Osman and Symes looked good though.

Team News

With all the 1st team squad sunning themselves in the Costa del Sol, a relatively young team will take on Blackburn. The exceptions being Ferguson & Linderoth. They will play to get back to full fitness.

Everton from: Turner, B Moogan, A Moogan, O'Hanlon, Crowder, Southern, Said, Schumacher, Cole, Symes, Beck, Linderoth, Carney, Ferguson, Osman, Colbeck.
