EVERTON
Simonson - simo made a few excellent saves and played well
George pillkington - solid won alot and distributed the ball out
wel
Martin Crowder - had a quiet game but was quite effective with
the long ball
Joey Yobo - joey had a dodgy 10 minutes at the start but picked
his game up well and got better as the match went on. 20 minutes from
the end holden stuck him in the centre of midfield and was excellent -
patrick viera like
Li wei Feng - this guy aint no monkey! he's fast won every header
and puts himself about - he did a class kung fu kick for a tackle.
David Unsworth - solid as always got stuck in
Dave Carney - had a quiet game didnt really see to much
Leon Osman - good attacking and made some good passes - wasnt too
keen on the defending half though
Michael symes - good holding the bvall up but was generally quiet
Kevin McLeod - he was class by far the best player and the goal
scorer which he was quick to pick up on a wednesday error in the 18 yard
area and cooly slotted home from around 12 yard from a tight angle - he
played some excellent crosses and linked up well with symes
RodrigoI - very juhnino like and had some good dribbles - he hit
a few great free kicks which caused some good saves
used subs:
Scott brown - scott was proud to show off his everton tattoo as
he changed his shirt (i sat behind the bench~) and looked lively for the
10 mins he was on
Alan Moogan - come on at the end to waste time
moyes was there with
jimmy lumsdon also was colin harvey
at the end moyes was signing autographs and i managed to see him before
he went so i called his name and said '' long live the peoples club' he
smiled then went. The Chief. (20/08/02)
Stars
play for Reserves
David
Moyes plans to use reserve games to get first team squad members prepared
for the Premiership. Steve Watson, Joey Yobo, Juli, Rhino and Kevin McLeod
are all expected to play at Sheff Wed tonight. I wonder if any of them
will do a Micky Thomas and refuse to play. I don't think so.
David
Moyes said:" We will pick and choose when we think people need games
and when they don’t.We
will do what we think is right and in this early part of the season players
do need games to get up to full speed and the players we have got we’ll
use in the reserves.” (20/08/02)
