Last Season's Game

The reserves first game of the season ended in an exellent 4 - 1 win with leon osman the star (again!) getting a hat-trick . Things looked good even before kick off when you find out that two former blue stars? (stop laughting at the back) Neil Mcdonald is there manager and Gareth Farrelly is their midfield star! Bolton took an early lead through a headed goal by Niven. From then on the blues never looked back. With Schumacher and Garside almost getting on the score sheet. Midway through the first half Osman got his first when a Schumacher free kick wasn't cleared and Ossie scored the tap in.
An exellent run by the impressive Mcleod 10 minutes later, saw him beating three defenders before playing the ball to Osman who chipped the keeper to give the blues a 2-1 lead. Five minutes later it was 3-1 for Everton. Alan Moogan scoring from the edge of the area after a lay off by Osman. This lead to Bolton replacing there keeper.

Half Time: Bolton 1, Everton 3.

Into the second half Bolton sub keeper Timms was kept busy, while Paul Gerrard was a spectator. Mcleod continued to play well having a couple of good efforts saved. Clarke and Brian Moogan also had chances denied before Leon Osman completed his hat-trick with a penalty five minutes from the end after he had been fouled by the keeper.

Final Score: Bolton, 1 Everton 4.

ON LEON OSMAN HE'S GOT TO BE WORTH A CHANCE. IF HE PLAYED AT HIGHBURY WITH HIS PACE, KEOWN WOULD STRUGGLE. MY ONLY WORRY IS THAT HE'S A LIGHT WEIGHT. CAMPBELL WOULD HAMMER HIM. ALTHOUGH HE'D HAVE TO CATCH HIM FIRST. WORTH A GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
