Everton Get To Final of Senior Cup

A young Everton side beat Marine 2-0 to go into the final of The Liverpool Senior Cup where they will play Tranmere. Goals by Alan Moogan & Michael Symes won the game against an experienced Marine side. Scott Brown & Paul Hopkins did well for the Toffees. (02/10/03)

Andy Holden says: “It was a very professional performance. It’s never easy playing teams like Marine, but our lads displayed an excellent attitude and everyone played their part in the win.”

A strong reserve side beat the chelsea backed welsh side 3-1.
With TNS playing in a 'celtic' top and everton in all blue it was like a mini old firm game in the welsh hills.
After only 5 minutes li tie had a shot on goal and after 10 minutes McLeod should of done better when winning a corner.
Both sides had good chances in the game before TNS took the lead on 38 mins through jamie wood, a six yard tap in when the defence all stood and watched - just like the first team.
The blues where back on level terms before half time through an own goal, after Chadwick had a shot cleared by the keeper it hit aggrey and went in.
Just after the hour everton went 2-1 up thanks to chadwick. Pascucci did the hard work beating the defenders before losing the ball and Chadwick scored.
Midway through the 2nd half Osman got the goal his performance deserved, after beating several defenders his shot was saved. He got to the rebound first to make it 3-1.

LOW PIONTS:

The dicks giving Rooney hassle on the touchline.
the soft sh1ts in the social club giving the locals crap at half time.

HIGH PIONTS:

ROONEY telling the knobs to f*ckoff.
some fit blonde bird in the stand behind the goal, a spit of liz from atomic
kitten.
KEEGAN in the 'executive' box given stick for being a redshite.
MOOGAN taking a throw in to McLoed telling him to flick it on, he messed up and was told to f*ckoff by moogan.
rumour 'liz' had punched keegan as he left the game.
O'HANLON OUTSTANING AT RIGHT BACK POSSIBLE FUTURE CENTRE HALF
OSMAN SHOULD BE IN THE FIRST TEAM (ALONG SIDE DAVIS? IN THE MIDFEILD)

TILL NEXT TIME. JUDD. (09/08/03)

Rhyl 1, Everton 1. atten: 534. Scorer: Passcucci.

Everton: Turner, Potter, B Moogan, Perrinelle, O’Hanlon, Schumacher, Brown, A Moogan, Garside, Pascucci, Barry.

Bench:
Gerrard, Domboro for Perrinelle (46m), Gallagher, Flood, booth, Jones.

A near Under 19's team played Rhyl. Young keeper, Iain Turner had an outsatanding game, making two world class saves to deny Rhyl. He has impressed in pre-season, & if he continues to perform like this, he could be pushing for a 1st team squad place. Rhyl took the lead after French trialist Damien Perrinelle had pushed a Rhyl forward. Ref said 'Pen'. 1-0 to Rhyl. but Everton showed great strength of character to pull the scores level. Led by skipper Sean O'Hanlon, Everton had a few chances. They got their reward when Pascucci drilled a shot in from a tight angle.

Andy Holden says: “Again, like at Leigh, we had a young team out, but I thought we learnt a lot more tonight.
In the first twenty minutes, I thought we played some really good stuff, without really threatening their goal. But then we gave a silly, silly penalty away – and when your side is as young as ours was tonight, it knocks them out of their stride. We started to get sloppy.  A lot of the passing became sloppy. We made it a scrap, which we’re not capable of doing, because we haven’t got the strongest of sides. I gave them a little talking to at half time and brought Anthony Barry off the line a little bit, got him on the ball a bit more in the second half – and we got our rewards with the equaliser. “I told him (Sean O'Hanlon) after the game that he was excellent. He had two foreign triallists alongside him, one in the first half and one in the second half, and he had to grow up. He did exceptionally well.”

Leigh RMI 1, Everton 1. atten: 825. Scorer: Osman.

Everton: Turner, Potter, B Moogan, O’Hanlon, Gerrard, Schumacher, Osman, A Moogan, Chadwick, Pascucci, McLeod,

Bench:
Brown for A. Moogan (75m), Barry, Flood, Lake, Fox.

Yesterday he was named in the squad, but today there was no sign of Alex Nyarko. Let's hope there is an explanation for this, & he hasn'y gone AWOL . Leon Osman scored Everton's goal. Everton were on top most of the game, but couldn't convert the pressure into goals. (26/07/03)

Everton to play TNS

The game will be played at the Welsh Premier League side's Llansantffraid ground on Friday 8th August 2003. Kick-Off 7.30pm. Andy Holden says: "It will be hard, particularly if we’ve only got youngsters to choose from, it will be a big test for them. TNS are not far off becoming a full-time outfit & they're playing in Europe, as we all know, and it should be a very interesting game." (11/07/03)
