Everton: Turner, Wright, Boyle, Hughes, Gerrard, Kearney, Hopkins, Plessis, Vaughan, Phelan, Fowler. Bench: Anichebe for Fowler (72), Gallagher, Holt, Morrison, Molyneux. Goalscorers: Plessis 18, Hopkins 76, Vaughan 87, 90. Andy Holden's young rezzies booked their place in the Semi Final of the NatWest Senior Cup, but they had to come from 2-1 down to do it. A great run and finish by debut boy, Guillaume Plessis gave Everton a deserved lead at the break, and if a few more chances had been taken, they should have had a bigger lead. In the second half Tranmere came out strongly and took the lead with two goals in 4 minutes. Holden brought on Vic Anichebe who set up the equaliser for Paul Hopkins, who has just signed his first professional contract. Everton ran out worthy winners with two late goals from Vaughan.
