Andy Holdens youngster's went down 3-1 at home, to visiting Blackburn Rovers, last night at Haig Avenue. That leaves the second string without a win in seven now, but once again the form of Li Tie was the bright point of the evening. The Chinese International who played virtually the full game is slowly playing his way back to full fitness.

The Blues were two down by the break, with goals for the visitors by Douglas, and Peters. Fifteen minutes into the second half, Blackburn made it three when Derbyshire headed past the helpless Turner.

Everton to their credit kept plugging away, and with ten minutes or so left on the clock, Chaddy reduced the arrears with the best goal of the night, racing 30 yards before cracking home past Drench.

Andy Holden will be glad to see the back of 2004, as the rezzies wrapped their fixtures up until the New Year. (08/12/04)
