A Mark Hughes penalty four minutes from time, gave Andy Holden's young charge's maximum points on their trip to the East Midlands. A very inexperienced Everton side, with no first team players on show, won a scrappy affair, but Andy Holden will not mind that.

The game was one of few chances, and the ones that where, mainly fell to the home side. Sean Lake in goal, made a cracking stop, from Forest forward, Roberts header. Everton's best chances came from Victor Anichebe, who watched as his glancing header, was saved well by the Forest keeper.

Everton's stroke of luck came late on, when Bjarni Vidarsson was upended in the area, and the ref had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Captain Hughes, took the responsibility on, and dispatched his spot kick, to make the coach journey home an enjoyable one. (30/03/05)
