Two second half strikes from Leeds finished off an Everton side looking for the end of season. In a drab mid table affair it was Leeds to took the game to Everton, and on the half hour mark they took the lead through Johnathan Howson, who had come on as sub as early as the twentieth minute.

Everton had their chances through Fowler and Phelan, but Leeds keeper Sasa Illic was rarely troubled by the Blues front line. Most of the Blues squad are eligible for the U18's, so it has been a commendable season for them as they have held a mid table position for so long.

Leeds finished the Blues off in the second half with strikers from Woods and Smith, but there is certainly no disgrace in this defeat. (14/04/05)

Gary Ablett will be taking be taking the reins off Andy Holden tonight, as the rezzies travel to Leeds, in the first of two meetings against the Yorkshire men in a week. Holden has been promoted to first team duties for the foreseeable future, and he is probably keeping an eye on young Vaughny who is a definite non starter for the second string tonight, after Sunday's heroics.

Everton seek to continue their good form of late, and the side will have the usual ring to it, after last weeks victory over Newcastle. Leeds currently trail the Blues by eight points, and Gary Ablett and Neil Dewsnip will be hoping their first time in charge proves victorious. (13/04/05)
