Everton went at Leeds from the off trying to salvage some respect after last weeks disappointment, and Victor Anichebe was the main antagonist. He came close several times, and would have given the Blues a well deserved lead if it was not for the brilliance of Timms in the Yorkshiremen's goal. Everton were the only team in at, in the first half, and on the stroke of half time big Aussie Eddy Bosnar watched his powerful free kick, go inches wide. The second half started in the same vein as the first had ended, but surprisingly it was Leeds who took a shock lead through Nick Gray who fired the away team into the lead from close range. This did not perturb Everton, as within three minutes they were level through Victor Anichebe. The youngster slammed the ball in himself from close range, to give Everton a well deserved equaliser. The game ebbed and flowed (it's like reading Stuart Hall this isn't it), and in the end the spoils were shared. A good nights work for Alan Irvine and his youngster, now it's over to the big boys tonight. (20/04/05)
