Everton Reserves 2004/2005

Everton 1, Skunks 0 /Premiership Reserves / Thursday 7th April 2005 / Kick Off: 2:00pm /

Everton: Lake, Wright, Wilson, Boyle, Hughes, Harris, Seargeant, Plessis, Anichebe, Fowler, Vidarsson.

Bench: Phelan (Anichebe 54), Kearney (Fowler 67), Davidsen, Holt, Jones

Goalscorers: Kearney (75)

Substitute Alan Kearney struck a late winner as the rezzies played their second game in two days. The game was brought forward so the Skunks could get back to Newcastle and watch the senior pro's have a scrap with each other in tonight's UEFA Cup tie.

It was the Blues who had more off the fight though this afternoon, and Andy Holden must be proud of his extremely young squad who now lie seventh in the table. The score could have been greater if Victor Anichebe's, and Patrick Boyle's efforts were not cleared off the line.

The industrious Scott Phelan created the winning goal after some great work down the left hand side. His cross was met by sub Kearney who slotted home from close range, and a derby day pile on ensued as way of celebration. (07/04/05)
