Everton:
Ruddy,
Wynne, Molyneux Bench: Elder (Anichebe 46), Irving, Ingasson, Dennehy, Morrison Andy Holden will be happy with his team's efforts last night as an inexperienced Everton second string held Brum to a goalless draw. Birmingham had no less than six players with first team experience, and at times it showed. Everton were on the back foot most of the game as the likes of David Dunn, Stephen Clemence and Jamie Clapham were dictating the play. Everton however had a great shout for a penalty turned down when Victor Anichebe was pulled down in the box, Everton's appeals however were to no avail. John Ruddy was called into action on several occasions, most notably when he pulled off a super stop from Brum's David Dunn. A good battling point for Andy Holden's lads, but the only sour moment of the night was Victor Anichebe leaving the field suffering from concussion on the hour mark. (28/02/06) |
