It
took only ten men in Royal Blue to turn the shite over in last night's
mini Derby at Wrexham's Race Course Ground. A double from Bjarni Vidarrsson
and a header from Victor Anichebe gave Everton a three goal lead, and
they also had the luxury of a penalty miss after bluekipper's mate Mark
Hughes watched his second half spot kick saved by Willis is the shite
sticks.
The
shite fought back with goals from Pongy, and Guthrie, but it was all
too little too late as the Blues took all the points. Late on James
Harris took an early bath when he was dismissed after two yellows. Not
a bad start turning the shite over, and rightly Andy Holden was overjoyed.

Yozzer
Hughes Reserve Skipper says:
"It’s always good to beat Liverpool and we deserved it because
we played well together. When we went three up they put us on our toes
a bit and we had to defend a lot especially when we went we down to
ten men.
When it was 3-2 we seemed to be permanently on the edge of our 18-yard
box but Wrighty kept us lively and kept talking to us. I also thought
that Victor was outstanding for us up front on his own. He held the
ball up well for us.
I scored a penalty last season against Nottingham Forest and so I was
confident that I’d score again but I think centre-halves are probably
best staying on the half-way line. I was pleased to set Victor up for
his goal so soon after my miss!" (17/08/05)
