Everton: Turner, Wynne, Kroldrup, Hughes, Harris, Boyle, Osman, Wilson, Anichebe, Seargant, Hopkins.

Bench: Jones, Vidarrson, Kissock, Phelan, Wright

Scorers: Kroldrup, Osman, Hopkins.

Andy Holden was able to call on new boy Per Kroldrup, as he continues to build up his fitness ahead of a first team debut. Also in the second string was Leon Osman, and the undoubted class on show, helped the Blues turn over West Brom, at Kidderminster last night.

In fact it was PK, and Leon along with young striker Paul Hopkins that did most of the damage as the Blues strolled to a 3-1 victory, against the Midlanders who previous to last night were unbeaten in five matches. The Baggies were able to field five players with first team experience, which made Everton's result more special. PK started the rout in the fourteenth minute when he tapped in after beating the offside trap, after cleverly chipping the ball over Russell Hoult. Leon made it two after twenty minutes stooping low at the far post to guide his header into the Baggies net. Paul Hopkins made it three in the second when his low drive beat Hoult hands down. PK went close again, and it seems he likes to push on looking for the odd oppurtunity.

The Baggies pulled one back late on, but on then whole a good Blues performance, that pushes them into the top half of the table. (08/11/05)

Andy Holden says: "I thought it was a great result. From first minute to last we went about in an excellent manner against a strong West Brom side that had a number of first team players in action. Leon came into midfield and had a good influence on the game. I said a few weeks ago that it is good for the young lads to have a more experienced head in the side, particularly in midfield. Ossie did a very good job for us.

I was very happy with the performance from everybody. I am delighted for the young lads. This was a great performance and Iain Turner didn't have a save to make - their goal was a lucky one straight from a free kick. I thought the second half was going to be a long 45 because we were two up and they were eager to get back into the game. The third goal was a great move and it killed them off really. They only managed one goal midway through the half and we did very well in what were difficult conditions. Per is a good professional who has acquitted himself very well and it was good to see him get a goal." (08/11/05)
