Shittteeehh 2 Everton 1/ Premiership Reserves / Tue 13th March 2007 / Kick Off: 7:00pm /Sports City Manchester/Att: 221

Everton: Ruddy, Irving, Molyneux, Rodwell, Dennehy, Kearney, Phelan, Vidarsson, Vaughan, Anichebe, Kissock,

Bench: Morrison, Jones, Connor, Spencer, Agard.

Scorers: Vaughan

A strike right on the stroke of half time by James Vaughan was still not enough to avoid defeat at Man City last night. The young Everton striker gave Moyesy food for thought when he slotted home from close range after charging down the City's keepers clearance. Vaughny's strike brought the scores level after City had took a well deserved 31st minute lead through Grimes.

City retook the lead on the hour mark, and neither goals could be blamed on returning keeper John Ruddy. Ruddy who was released by Wrexham when his loan period expired earlier this week, did his confidence the world of good with a string of good stops to keep the score line respectable.

It is November since Andy Holden's boys last tasted victory in the League, and the manager will be keen to get some points on the board but it will be an uphill task as we now sit second from bottom in the Rezzie table. (14/02/07)

PRE MATCH

Andy Holden has an embarrassment of riches as Everton rezzies visit Man City this evening. Recalled keeper John Ruddy finds himself back in the sticks after his stint at Wrexham, and Moyesy will be keeping an eye on Big Vic, Vaughny and Bjarni Vidarrsson as they will all start tonight. Due to the Winter weather playing havoc on the fixtures, the Reserves disjointed season really takes off tonight, as between now and the end of the season, the Blues have to cram in eight matches, and Andy Holden for one is relishing the challenge.

Andy says: We have gone from one extreme to the other. We have gone from having one game a month to having a game every week now, right through until the end of the season. That way everybody can get a game everybody and everybody can stay fit. It (SportCity) is a nice little set-up, and whatever line-up we put out, they will do the usual thing - and that is give 100 per cent." (13/03/07)
