The feel good factor at Everton just got better tonight, when Everton's youngest ever goalscorer, James Vaughan made his comeback after a year out with injury. Not only did he play for over 60 minutes, but scored a goal, when he stabbed home from close range after the Barcodes goalie had failed to hold a Bjarni Vidarsson drive. Vaughany was replaced by new Summer signing, Scott Spencer.

Skipper, Yosser Hughes scored from the spot for Everton's second. Everton finished 2-2 against a Newcastle side, which was unbeaten at home last season. Other pluses on the night saw Tony Hibbert play a full 90 minutes after his illness, plus club captain Davie Weir got a full game under his belt after injury.
