Jimmy Mac returned to competitive action with a bang when he bagged a brace against the Skunks second string in Widnes last night. The Scots forward was unplayable and was denied a hat trick when his long range effort cannoned off the bar early on. It was Newcastle who took the lead in the fifteenth minute when Andy Carroll's header beat Dickie, but the Blues had to wait till six minutes into the second period when Jimmy coolly finish past Forster after pouncing on a poor back pass.

Faddy sealed the points when with ten left on the clock, he pounced on the rebounded Anderson de Silva's well saved shot to give Andy Holden his first win since the 15th November. Pisto lasted an hour, but more good news for Moyesy as Nuno also came through the match unscathed. (04/04/07)

PRE MATCH

Andy Holden has an embarrassment of first team riches at his disposal tonight as the rezzies take on the Skunks tonight at the Halton Stadium (kick off 7pm). Faddy returns to action after his broken foot, and he is joined by Dickie Wright, Nuno, and Pisto who will all be trying to prove their fitness as ahead of the Blues run in to the season's end. The Blues second string who have suffered back to backs defeats at the hands of manure within the last fortnight, will be hoping for a win tonight to get their own season back on track.

Everton from: Wright, Pistone, Valente, Irving, Kearney, de Silva, Morrison, Vidarsson, McFadden, Agard, Connor, Phelan, Ruddy, Densmore, Harpur, Spencer.
