A strong looking Everton side was still not enough to see off a Sheffield United side that contained Paul Gerrard and Li Tie. The Blues fell to a last gasp winner from Blades defender Leigh Bromby. This came after the Blues had levelled through Big Vic when Kieran Agard came off the bench to set up Everton's equaliser with ten minutes left on the clock.

Moyesy will know doubt be pleased with Anderson de Silva's contribution as he looked lively throughout, as did Vaughny, as the Blues second string went down in only their third League game of a very stop, start season for them.

PRE MATCH

Everton get their rezzie campaign underway again tonight away against Sheffield United. With the mini derby called off back in January, the Blues second string have not played since early December. There will be no Mark Hughes tonight, after he was transferred by Moyesy back in January, but a strong side including Pisto, Nace, Vaughny, Big Vic and Anderson de Silva are in Andy Holdens squad, and they will come up against ex Blues in the form of Paul Gerrard and Li Tie.

Andy Holden says: "It will be nice to see Li Tie again. He was a pleasure to work with when he was here and whether he was in the first team or the reserves he always gave 100%. Sheffield United played a strong team at Widnes earlier in the season when we drew 1-1 and it was a good game so hopefully it will be again tonight." (13/02/07)
