2 v 1 Everton. Wed.
26th March 2002 @ The Reebok Stadium. Att: 356. PemboTests His Dodgy Knee Everton from : Gerrard, Cleland, Clarke, Pilkington, Valentine, Southern, Linderoth, Pembridge, McLeod, Moore, Osman. Bench:
O'Hanlon, Curran, Eaton for Pembridge (60m) Scorers: Osman (29m). Bolton: Caser, Hunt, Barness, Forchelet, Southall, Frandsen, Johnson, Farrelly, Ricketts, Pedersen, Smith. The people's Club manager, David Moyes had a look at the second string . He saw Mark Pembridge for the 1st time. Now there's an honour. He wasn't watching Nick CHADWICK WHO IS RESTED READY FOR 1ST TEAM ACTION WITH CHELSEA. Moyesey says: "I had an opportunity to have a look last week against Leeds United and I want the players all to play. It is important that the players get games and keep match fit because they will be required. Hopefully between now and the end of the season they will get opportunities to play in the first team." Everton
started brightly with McLeod, Pembridge, & Linderoth all looking
lively. Everton took the lead through Leon Osman, who has said he is
jealous of the likes of Hibbert, & Chadwick, because they are getting
games for the 1st team. Well Leon, keep banging the goals in infront
of the People's Club boss, & you never know. Bolton fielded players
with 1st team experience. With the likes of Jermaine Johnson, Everton
old boy Gareth (What a goal) Farrelly, Per Frandsen, Hendrick Pedersen,
& Michael Ricketts who scored the equaliser with a penalty.Peter
Clarke being adjudged pushed him on the stroke of half time. . Half-time: Bolton 1, Everton 1. Everton had chances to go ahead through Southern, & Osman, but their efforts were well saved by Caser in the Bolton Goal. Bolton's winner came from a Johnson shot, which Gerrard seemed to have covered, but it took a deflection off George Pilkington and ended up in the net. For Everton, Pembridge did ok for an hour, & will no doubt be included in the 1st team squad for Saturday. Pilkington, Southern, Osman, Linderoth, & Mcleod all played well.
