Everton 2 v 2 Bradford Tues
4th December 2001 @ Auto Quest, Widnes. Att: 505 Talk About A Game of Two Halves, again! Everton:
Gerrard; Hibbert, Valentine, Clarke, Pilkington, McLeod, Blomqvist,
Moore, Tal, Eaton, Chadwick, Bench: Pettinger, Symes, O'Hanlon, Curran for Blomqvist (46m), Kearney. Scorers: Eaton (1m) Chadwick (68'). Bradford: Worsnip, Jorgensen, Emanuel, Molenaar, Bowler, Makel (Fishlock 46), Carricondo, Blake (Lee 46), Ward, Sharpe, Grant Everton took the lead within the first minute, but Bradford hit back to make it 1-1 after 2 minutes. We scored through David Eaton, who drilled his shot into the bottom right hand corner after some good work by Idan Tal. Bradford, who had a strong line up of ex-premier player, including Ashley Ward, Robbie Blake, Robert Molenaar, Lee Sharpe (he of the dodgy haircut) as well as others with dodgy names, scored immediately through Ward. His shot gave Gerrard no chance. After Kevin McLeod's effort, Everton were defending to hang on to the 1-1 scoreline. Clarke & Pilkington were brave in blocking shot after shot, but could do nothing to stop Blake's effort after 38 mins. This was minutes after Bradford had hit the bar. Half time : Everton 1, Bradford 2. Everton began without Blomqvist. Curren replaced him. We thought here we go again. The croc is crocked again. But according to Andy Holden, this is part of the master plan & Jesper could be in the first team squad for Fulham. We started well, with efforts from Eaton, & Chadwick blocked by the keeper. Everton equilised after 67 minutes. McLeod went down the left, taking on 2 defenders beat them, & crossed for Nic Chadwick to cheekily back-heel the ball home. Everton finished stronger, but 2-2 was a fair result. Clarke & Pilkington did well at the back, while McLeod, & Chadwick were the best forward players. Full-time: Everton 2, Bradford 2.
