Villa 5 v 1 Everton Tuesday,
17th Jan 2002 @ Villa Park. Att: 723 At Least Dunc Got A Full Game Everton:
Gerrard; Cleland, Clarke, Pilkington,Valentine, Southern, Curran, Moore,
McLeod, Chadwick, Ferguson. Bench: Pettinger, O'Hanlon, Kearney. Eaton for McLeod (73m) Scorers: Curren Villa: Enckleman, Bewers, Jackman, Kachloul, Smith, Barry, Hadji, Stone, Balaban, Hitzlsperger, Ginola. Villa
totally outclassed Everton, with a strong team including 6 Internationals.
Villa are another Club with a squad much stronger than ours. The plus
points to be taken from the match was that Ferguson got through 90 minutes,
& he looked OK as he partnered Nick Chadwick upfront. Ginola scored
with a typical free kick, with Gerrard nowhere. The experienced Villa
players made it 4-0 before the break. Everton's only reply where efforts
from Ferguson & Chadwick.
Half-time: Villa 4, Everton 0. Everton pulled a goal back when Ferguson & Chadwick combined to set up Curren to score. Everton were game for the rest of the half, but Vill had taken their foot off the gas. Full - time: Villa 5, Everton 1. What do you think? E-mail Blue Kipper |
