We visited the
Hermie before the Bolton Game 28th Dec. 2002. Most
of us had hangovers.

The Shy Barmaid

|
Linda Lavin is
the Boss of this great Toffee Ale 'ouse. She has been in charge for 3 years. |
|
Wall to wall
Toffeemen. One of the biggest pubs we have visited, & all 6 rooms were
packed. Still no trouble getting served. Plus
there was a load outside, even though it was cold. But inside boy was it
hot. The place was full of discarded coats, scarves & hats.
|
|
Great choice of
ale. 3 lagers, Stella, Castlemaine, & Carlesberg. Guinness, & Extra
Cold. Tetley Mild & Bitter, & for the serious juice heads 2 draft
ciders, Strongbow, & Scrumpy Jack. Go 'ed! and all your usual breezers
& bottles Bud, Becks Smirn Ice etc. The Guiness was 50p cheaper in one
room, than in the others. |
|
No jukey, but
background music, but not on match days. 1 Big Screen, & 2 other TV's with
Sky TV. |
|
Tommy Selsby.
A top Toffee Pensioner, who has his own seat in the back room, & God
help anyone who is sitting in it when he comes in. Tommy refused to take
his place at The Christmas party, until the boss got rid of the Christmas
napkins, which were red, & replaced them with Blue ones. |
|
4 rooms, pool
room, & function room. Quiz on a Thursday, Free Pool on a Tuesday, Live
Music most Saturday's. The Hermie has it's own darts team, & Sunday
football team . |
