Materazzi
World Cup Winner
Former
Everton player, Marco Materazzi won a World Cup Winners medal
as Italy beat France on pens tonight. Marco showed what every
Evertonian saw in glimpses during his stay at Goodison. Within
minutes he'd given away a penalty with a clumsy challenge. He
made amends by scoring Italy's equiliser with a great header.
When challenged, he went down like a bag of shite. He hit some
great long passes, but then over hit a load to no one. He was
involved in the incident which saw French skipper Zidane sent
off. Then he scored a penalty in the shoot out. (09/07/06)

Captains England At The World Cup
I
went to the Togo match in the middle of my trip to the Subbuteo
World Cup finals in Dortmund weekend June 17/18th. I have been
the England subbuteo captain for the last 7 yrs now - and am
pleased to say that I have converted a few foreign players to
follow the blues as their English team over the years.
I
captained the England team to the semi finals only losing out
to Austria in the last minute. Italy won it - but this is a pic
from the group stages where I beat Conti 2-0.
Best
Regards. Phil Redman. (09/07/06)

All
Over
Everton's
interest in the World Cup 2006 ended last night as Nuno Valente's
Portugal, were beaten 3-1 by hosts Germany in the 3rd and 4th
Place Play Off Game. Nuno himself was substituted late on in
the second half, after putting in another impressive performance
in his full back role. That's it now for another four years,
better get the marriage back on track.
Oh
by the way, Marco Materazzi's Italy take on France tonight,
in the Final itself. Don't care who wins, I got Angola in the
works sweep, so been gutted from day one really. (09/07/06)

Nat's
Tatt
Being
at the World Cup is the culmination of a lifetime's ambition,
and having sampled it, Natalie plans to bring son Daniel, 13.
Natalie loves Everton so much she has their crest tattooed on
her right shoulder. Her father took her to games as a child.
She
says: "And when he used to go fishing instead, the vicar
used to take me," (06/07/06)

The
Rad In Stuttgart
Thomas
Radzinski outside the stadium in Stuttgart for the Holland
v Ivory Coast clash. The conversation went:
"Is that Radzinski?"
"Yep"
"Thomas come here. Have a pic with the Everton flag. We won't
hit you!"
"Right Thomas! Now about those comments on Moyes. Tell us
more and why?"
"He was ok a bit hard to get on with"
"AND?"

No
Final Dream
Nuno
Valente's Portugal were beaten 1-0 by France in the World Cup
Semi-Final last night in Munich. Nuno had a steady game, but
instead of heading home for a holiday, he has to stay to play
in the pointless 3rd-4th place match on Saturday. Let's hope
big Phil decides to give a few of his reserve players a game
and leaves Nuno out. (06/07/06)
